Overview
The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Standard 16 PoE is a compact 1U rack-mount Layer 2 managed switch built for small offices, server cupboards, and quiet environments where fan noise is unacceptable. With 16 × Gigabit Ethernet ports (8 with PoE+, up to 32W per port), 2 × 1G SFP uplinks, and a 42W total PoE budget, it provides enough connectivity and power for small UniFi deployments — powering access points, VoIP phones, and IP cameras without a separate PoE injector.
The fanless design uses passive cooling through its SGCC steel enclosure, producing zero fan noise in operation. A 1.3″ touchscreen LCM display provides on-switch port status, and the internal 60W PSU means no external power brick. Managed centrally through the UniFi Network application alongside all other UniFi devices. NDAA compliant, CE/FCC/IC certified.

Managed by UniFi Network
The USW-16-POE is fully managed through the UniFi Network application — the same centralised platform used across all UniFi access points, gateways, and switches. Configure port profiles, VLANs, PoE scheduling, and access control from a single interface with no per-device licensing fees.
Core management capabilities
- Port management — configure speed, PoE output, VLAN assignment, and port profiles per port from the UniFi dashboard.
- PoE scheduling — set time-based PoE on/off schedules per port to manage power consumption and device uptime.
- VLAN configuration — create and manage VLANs and 802.1Q tagging for network segmentation.
- Remote monitoring — real-time port statistics, power draw per port, and switch health visible from anywhere via UniFi Cloud.
- Firmware updates — push updates remotely without on-site access.
