Overview

Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi Pro Max 16 PoE is the PoE-equipped sibling to the USW-Pro-Max-16 — a compact Layer 3 managed switch that combines PoE++ output, Etherlighting™, 2.5 GbE ports, and 10G SFP+ uplinks in a 325mm-deep chassis that mounts in a 1U rack, on a desktop, or flat on a wall. Four 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports with PoE++ (up to 64W) connect Wi-Fi 6/7 access points, while twelve 1 GbE RJ45 ports with PoE+ (up to 32W) cover VoIP phones, IP cameras, and standard PoE devices — all with a 180W total PoE budget from an included external 210W AC adapter.

Layer 3 features include DHCP server, inter-VLAN routing, and static routing. Pro AV profiles provide one-click optimisation for Dante, NDI, Q-SYS, and other AV protocols. Etherlighting™ on all Ethernet and SFP+ ports provides instant per-port visual status. NDAA compliant, CE/FCC/IC certified.

Key highlights

  • 4 × 2.5 GbE RJ45 with PoE++ (up to 64W) for Wi-Fi 6/7 APs
  • 12 × 1 GbE RJ45 with PoE+ (up to 32W) for cameras, phones, and devices
  • 2 × 10G SFP+ uplinks for high-speed backbone connectivity
  • 180W total PoE budget from included external 210W AC adapter
  • Rack, desktop, and wall mounting — three form factors in one
  • Layer 3 — DHCP, inter-VLAN routing, and static routing
  • Etherlighting™ on all Ethernet and SFP+ ports
  • Pro AV profiles — Dante, NDI, Q-SYS, SDVoE, and more
  • 1.3″ touchscreen LCM display for on-switch management
  • NDAA compliant, CE/FCC/IC certified

Recommended for

  • Small offices & SMEs — compact PoE++ switch for Wi-Fi 6/7 APs, VoIP phones, and cameras without a full rack switch
  • Flexible installations — wall mount in comms rooms, rack in cabinets, or desktop in server areas without changing hardware
  • Pro AV environments — Dante, NDI, and Q-SYS profiles for small AV networks with PoE-powered devices
  • Layer 3 edge deployments — DHCP server and inter-VLAN routing without a separate gateway for simple network designs

Software

Managed by UniFi Network

The USW-Pro-Max-16-POE is fully managed through the UniFi Network application — the same centralised platform used across the entire UniFi ecosystem. Configure VLANs, PoE schedules, port profiles, Layer 3 routing, and Pro AV profiles from a single interface with no per-device licensing fees.

Core management capabilities

  • Port management — configure speed, PoE output, VLAN assignment, and port profiles per port from the UniFi dashboard.
  • PoE scheduling — set time-based PoE on/off schedules per port to manage power consumption and device uptime.
  • Layer 3 routing — configure DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, and static routes directly in UniFi Network.
  • VLAN configuration — create and manage VLANs and 802.1Q tagging across all ports.
  • Remote monitoring — real-time port statistics, power draw per port, and switch health visible from anywhere via UniFi Cloud.
  • Pro AV profiles — one-click network optimisation for Dante, NDI, Q-SYS, and other professional AV protocols.
  • Firmware updates — push updates remotely without on-site access.
