Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro XG

The Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro XG is a slim ceiling-mounted tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point delivering 10.8 Gbps aggregate throughput across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz — with 6 spatial streams, a 10 GbE uplink, and support for 300+ concurrent clients across 1,500 ft². Powered and connected over a single Cat6 cable using PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) — no separate power supply required. The 10 GbE uplink makes the U7 Pro XG the right choice where a 2.5 GbE connection would bottleneck a high-speed network backbone, available in both white and black finishes.

Overview

Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro XG is the 10 GbE uplink variant of the U7 Pro — a slim ceiling-mounted tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point combining 6 spatial streams and 10 GbE connectivity in a profile just 32.5mm deep. It delivers 10.8 Gbps aggregate throughput across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz with support for 300+ concurrent clients and 140 m² (1,500 ft²) of coverage.

Compared to the standard U7 Pro’s 2.5 GbE uplink, the XG’s 10 GbE connection ensures the wired backbone never bottlenecks the wireless capacity — making it the ideal choice for networks with 10G switching infrastructure. Powered over a single Cat6 cable via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) at just 22W — no separate power supply required. Available in white and black. NDAA compliant, CE/FCC/IC certified.

Key highlights

  • 10 GbE uplink — eliminates the wired bottleneck on 10G network backbones
  • Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with 6 GHz support
  • 6 spatial streams, 2×2 MU-MIMO across all three bands
  • 300+ concurrent clients across 1,500 ft²
  • Slim 32.5mm depth profile — discreet ceiling installation
  • Single Cat6 cable carries power and data via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at)
  • 22W max power — energy-efficient on any PoE+ switch
  • Available in white and black
  • NDAA compliant, CE/FCC/IC certified

Recommended for

  • 10G network backbones — pairs with USW-Pro-XG-Aggregation or ECS switches for a full 10G wireless-to-switch connection
  • Enterprise offices — reliable Wi-Fi 7 for employees, VoIP, video conferencing, and cloud apps
  • Education & retail — captive portal, guest isolation, and seamless 802.11r roaming
  • Design-conscious installations — slim profile and white/black options for clean ceiling aesthetics

Performance

Aggregate throughput

The U7 Pro XG uses 2×2 MU-MIMO across all three bands — the same radio configuration as the U7 Pro, but with a 10 GbE uplink ensuring the wired connection keeps pace with the combined wireless output. The 6 GHz band provides clean, interference-free spectrum for modern Wi-Fi 7 clients.

Software

Managed by UniFi Network

The UniFi U7 Pro XG is fully managed through the UniFi Network application — Ubiquiti’s centralised platform for configuring, monitoring, and scaling enterprise wireless networks. Available as a self-hosted controller or via UniFi Cloud, with no per-device licensing fees and full multi-site management from a single interface.

Core capabilities

  • Centralised multi-site management — one controller manages multiple sites, each with its own monitoring, config, and admin accounts.
  • Remote firmware updates — push updates to all access points without on-site access.
  • Guest hotspot & captive portal — custom-branded portals with voucher, payment, or password auth plus Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0).
  • Per-user speed limiting — upload/download caps per user or SSID for fair bandwidth management.
  • WiFi schedules — define time-based wireless access policies per SSID.
  • Network & VLAN configuration — per-SSID VLANs and dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLANs for granular network segmentation.
